Material damages
Medical bills, medication, rehabilitation, lost income, future care costs, vehicle repair or value, towing, expert fees.
Moral damages
Physical and psychological pain, loss of enjoyment of life, disfigurement. The judge sets the figure within a wide discretion, often 10,000–500,000 TL.
Defendants
The at-fault driver, the vehicle owner, the compulsory third-party insurer (trafik sigortası) and any optional KASKO insurer.
Time limits
2 years from knowledge of harm and tortfeasor, 10 years maximum. If the act is criminal, the longer criminal limitation also applies.
